The König-Pilsener-Arena is located near the CentrO Shopping Centre. This multifunctional hall is part of the Oberhausen Neue Mitte. The hall’s construction cost a total of 45 million Euros to build and took 14 months: the hall was officially opened on 8th September 1996. The Oberhausen Neue Mitte has been established on the site of a disused Thyssen steelworks, within the context of the Ruhr area’s structural change. Visitors can make use of over 10,000 free-of-charge parking spaces, several motorway connections and a bus/tram stop, all in the direct vicinity of the arena.
